Go Radio has been chosen to send out the DON’T PANIC message from Ibrox over speculation that Steven Gerrard is on his way to becoming the manager of Aston Villa.

Since Dean Smith was sacked at lunchtime on Sunday there has been growing reports that the former Liverpool skipper is the man wanted to take over the Villa hot seat.

Gerrard isn’t scheduled to face the bought and paid for media until Friday November 19 which leaves plenty of time for discussions to take place about a return to English football.

This morning the UK edition of the Daily Mail announced that Gerrard was the first choice of the Villa board- and that former England midfielder would be interested in discussing their managerial vacancy.

The Sun reports:

However, according to Go Radio – an official media partner of Rangers – the club have received no contact from Aston Villa.

That will be good news for fans who may have been left fearful that Gerrard could be heading out the exit door.

It does remain to be seen though whether the Birmingham club will make their move for the manager in the coming days.

Go Radio wouldn’t announce the next fixture at Ibrox without first getting the OK from their media partner.

Villa CEO Christian Purslow was Managing Director of Liverpool from June 2009 to October 2010.

1 covid trophy out of 9 attempts. If he goes to Villa it’ll be championship football for them next season. He won’t have the establishment behind him down there.
