Ronald Koeman is one step away from replacing Steven Gerrard at Ibrox according to a report from Spain.

The Dutch legend was recently sacked by Barcelona, moving to Ibrox would seem to be an incredible backward step but speculation will provide a warm glow of comfort to Sevco supporters.

After 11 months out of management Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s agents ensured that their client’s every move since Thursday morning has been in the media spotlight.

On Saturday the former Barcelona midfielder flew back to Holland with Sky Sports informed that ‘positive talks’ had taken place in London with Director of Football Ross Wilson.

A True Blue is most likely to be appointed but the delusions of the Ibrox support want to see big names linked with the vacancy after they were jilted by Gerrard who left for Villa with five of his coaches.

Spanish website Fichajes reports:

Ronald Koeman ‘s return to the bench is about to take place. The Dutch manager is one step away from signing with Rangers from Glasgow.

After his fateful stage at FC Barcelona , where he left as a true villain, Ronald Koeman will have the opportunity to make up for himself sooner rather than later. His next destination would be in Scotland, on the bench at Ibrox Stadium, managing Rangers FC .

The Scottish team is in one of the sweetest moments in its recent history. After several years in the lower ranks of Scottish football, Rangers FC had not claimed the Scottish Premiership title since the 2010/11 season. With Steven Gerrard on the bench, the Protestant team lifted the title again last season.

For this reason, Steven Gerrard’s departure from Ibrox Stadium has been very painful for Rangers FC fans . The former Liverpool legend on the pitch has become a Glasgow legend on the bench. His unexpected departure to Aston Villa represents a great leap in his career as a manager, but it leaves Rangers FC in a very bad sporting position.

With Graeme Murty testing positive it looks like Jermain Defoe and Jimmy Bell will take training for the non-internationalists at Murray Park on Monday morning.

Barcelona to sevco, that would be a fall from grace….what a klub wangers are, so popular in the footballing world.
What manager would fancy a klub like wangers!!??
Bring back Pedro I say…he could maybe get a 3rd place finish and that would be a terrific achievement..
