Sometimes BBC Scotland just can’t but hide their true colours.

With the expert opinions of Billy Dodds, Mark Hateley, Neil McCann, Derek Ferguson, Chris Burke, Dick Foster on call to add to the views of Tom English, Kenny MacIntyre and Alasdair Lamont their output is very predictable.

A phoney stand-off with Sevco since 2015 has only resulted in more gushing coverage of all things Ibrox while their reporters seek to drum up every issue at Celtic into a crisis.

In September Celtic announced losses of £11.5m which the state broadcaster was happy to cover without any explanation. Such as the summer transfer surplus thanks to selling Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard alongwith a significantly reduced wage bill since July 1.

When the Ibrox club announced losses of more than double Celtic’s on a lower turnover any impartial judge would have raised more than eyebrows. Red ink may have been required.

Rather than simply report the extent of the losses BBC Scotland chose to cushion the blow with a sympathetic explanation to comfort. Unlike Celtic there were no summer sales in terms of players but delivering bad news to the bears doesn’t seem to be part of policy with the state broadcaster.

No mention was made in the BBC report of Dave King being paid £832,000 interest on a loan of £5m to his beloved club.
