With just over one week, and one match to go Ange Postecoglou is very definite in his plans for the January transfer window.

While putting a squad through pre-season training and European qualifiers the Australian had to juggle with the demands of the transfer market with the biggest turnover that Celtic has ever known.

In the last hour of the window Cameron Carter-Vickers arrived on loan with the defender playing in all but two of Celtic’s matches.

Jota and Giorgos Giakoumakis also arrived in the last day of business but with some building blocks in place the Celtic boss is anticipating a less frantic window when business opens next weekend.

We are still with the intent of trying to bring them early and if we can and, from my perspective, it would be ideal if we can get them in from when we restart training and give them a bit of lead into the second half of the year.

It’s challenging, I don’t think I’ll go through another transfer period like the first one, we had to bring in 12, that was something unique.

This time I can be a bit more measured, we have been working at it a lot longer, we kind of know what we want, it’s still a challenge because it’s not an exact science. Hopefully we get them in, we get the ones we want in and get them in early.

The J-League seems to be the focus of Celtic’s activities with Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi strongly linked with joining Kyogo Furuhashi in Glasgow.

There hasn’t been much discussion about departures but Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas and Boli Bolingoli could move on if there is any interest in them.
