Ange Postecoglou has revealed that he will trust the authorities to deal with refereeing and disciplinary issues.

The Celtic boss has watched his players be on the receiving end of some rough play this season with barely a comment coming from their manager.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh were on the receiving end against St Johnstone, Kyogo Furuhashi was on the wrong end of a nasty attack from John Souttar of Hearts before David Turnbull’s incident on Sunday against Dundee United.

Yesterday the SFA announced a three match ban for Calum Butcher with the Celtic midfielder avoiding any lasting damage from a ‘challenge’ that all pundits agreed should have resulted in a red card.

Reflecting on retrospective action, The Scotsman reports Postecoglou saying:

It’s been addressed, which is the right thing to do. I think it’s a simple clear-cut case. My view on these things has always been – and you guys will know this – that I don’t go in after games and highlight things.

Things that need to get addressed are addressed, and this has been addressed. The authorities deal with them as they see fit.

No action was taken against Don Robertson who felt that the Butcher challenge was only worth a yellow card, last night Robertson sent off Paul Hanlon and Paul McGinn of Hibs during their 1-0 defeat at Livingston.
