Jo Hendry has been drawn into a Twitter debate with Celtic fans following her question to Ange Postecoglou at yesterday’s media conference.
The Go Radio reporter asked if the Australian’s happy demeanour at Tannadice on Sunday suggested that it had been Celtic’s most satisfying away performance of the season.
Postecoglou has become used to the peculiar ways of the Scottish media, one classic example was when Alasdair Lamont of BBC Scotland asked if he felt that Celtic had deserved three points from their emphatic home win over Ferencvaros.
Justifying or explaining happiness in his job clearly bemused the Celtic boss yesterday but he did his best to provide an answer.
Letting a negative comment about the tone of the question go would be most reporters’ reaction but Hendry jumped in with both feet this morning!
Twitter following and interaction appears to be very important to traditional media outlets eager to get a foothold in the digital market.
With just over 2,000 followers Hendry isn’t among the biggest hitters online but that may change if she opts to get drawn in to Celtic fans lapping up the way that their new manager treats elements of the media.

JH: And just touching briefly again on the game at the weekend which you look like you fairly enjoyed against Dundee United, was that as satisfying a feeling as you’ve had on the road with Celtic so far
AP: Well, look, you know, it was a good performance, I’m allowed to enjoy myself, I’m not that miserable all the time. We played well, we scored some good goals, I managed to smile a couple of times.
You know, I do love what I do, I feel pretty fortunate so I’m going to enjoy the good times as I want the players and our fans to. You know, it wasn’t any more significant than any other away victories. It is hard to win away against a difficult opponent but I was pleased because we played well, scored some good goals and gave some excitement to our fans. That’s stuff that I enjoy as well, I’ll try and stay more reserved next time as well so that people don’t get too upset about things.
Just seen a clip of Ange at today’s press conference having to justify celebrating at Tannadice on Sunday.
What a horrible dour sullen presbyterian bunch that call themselves journalists we have in this country. pic.twitter.com/pMYgpx9LTX

What a bizarre take on a positive question

The question actually seems irrelevant, because it can quite clearly be turned into whatever the person listening wants to hear, as opposed to what was actually asked and meant.

I’m sure you’ll seek it out and make your own mind up if you want to. I’m not here to justify my questions, but I will defend them. In meantime, I’m away to add horrible, dour, sullen and Presbyterian to my CV – they’re all new ones on me ?

Why more serious questions like were you happy cause one of your top players survived a horribly challenge or that or unhappy at times sfa have banned butcher for 3 games benefitting other teams do u think player should miss three games against Celtic_fc_1888 or does he think referee should be reprimanded and third official for not showing yellow and why this is constant with referees or is it your there with your pretty face to ask your bosses questions and if so in a job where females are beginning to be respected it will do nothing for your gender ?
