Celtic’s match at St Mirren is ON after the Paisley side got the results back from their daily PCR tests.

A squad of 13 outfield players plus a goalkeeper is required to complete any fixture with Jim Goodwin able to call on that number of players for tonight’s match.

On Friday St Mirren closed down their training centre but despite a couple of calls to the SPFL tonight’s match goes ahead.

At 1.30pm today the Daily Record reported:

Under emergency SPFL rules games must go ahead if any stricken club still has enough players to fill out a squad of 13 outfield players and a goalkeeper.

This morning’s PCR test results did not produce results that passed the threshold and therefore the game has been given the green light.

A win tonight for Ange Postecoglou’s side will cut the gap at the top of the table back to four points with the very real prospect of the winter break being brought forward to start this weekend.

It is believed that a majority of clubs are in favour of bringing forward the break with Celtic, Motherwell, Hibs and St Johnstone going public with their requests for the break being brought forward which would require three rounds of fixtures to be rescheduled.

All tickets have been sold for tonight’s match which is also available to be viewed on St Mirren TV.
