Ange Postecoglou has delivered a reasoned plea not to put football matches back behind closed doors.
Sunday’s League Cup Final at Hampden will go ahead watched by 50,000 fans but the latest stage of the pandemic is being monitored on a day-to-day basis.
The EPL has suffered a number of postponements this week with four matches already wiped out of the weekend card.
In March 2013 Scottish football closed down completely with that season decided on average points per game, last season was played out with just one Celtic match, away to Ross County in September played in front of fans with just 300 in attendance.
A year ago Celtic lifted the Scottish Cup inside an empty stadium but after six months in Scotland Postecoglou knows the sentiment behind Celtic’s claim that they are more than a club.
??”People still at their very core want to live their lives and it’s hard to dictate to people what to do and not to do…”

It’s tough, we live in a society where people have been through unprecedented times. One thing about human nature is that people, at their very core want to live their lives, it is very hard to dictate to people what to do and what not to do.
All that we can do is provide the best sort of advice to people and hopefully they take all of the right precautions. Make sure that they are vaccinated, make sure that they test negative before games and as much as possible try to limit their exposure.
But it is a challenging one, as you said, for supporters, they missed last year, they missed football, kit’s a big part of their lives.
It is not like; I think that people dismiss football as just another sort of area of entertainment. We know that that is not the case.
For a lot of people, the football club that they support, this football club in particular is generational. People have invested their whole life’s into following this football club. So, it’s challenging, I guess that the whole of society is going through challenging times at the moment.
Cant ask players to play behind closed doors these players are showman
