Celtic fans were less than impressed with the news that Hibs have been unable to sell out their allocation of tickets for Sunday’s League Cup Final at Hampden.

Close to 40,000 Celtic fans attended the semi-final win over St Johnstone last month with less than 30,000 tickets given to hoops fans for Sunday’s clash.

While Hibs supporters have been able to pick and choose tickets Celtic’s near 50,000 Season Ticket holders have had to go through a ballot system based on attendance at previous cup ties this season to come up with a ticket for Hampden.

From the moment that the finalists were known Hibs were lobbying for a 50% split of tickets.

While that seems to be the policy of the SFA who have a May final the reality of a trip to Glasgow in December to watch a struggling team doesn’t have the same appeal to the big match Hibs fans although Season Ticket holders quickly bought up tickets.

Celtic fans are likely to have the bulk of corporate and debenture seats at Hampden but while Hibs struggle to sell out their 19,500 tickets there is every indication that Celtic could have filled each of the 52,000 seats at the National Stadium.
