There are at least two sides to Ally McCoist. There is the cheeky chappie, the fun loving media pundit that covers English football almost every day of the week to keep his income at the levels he enjoyed while taking Ian Black, Lee Wallace, Kevin Kyle, Lee McCulloch and Barrie McKay to Elgin, Annan and Peterhead.

There is also the real McCoist. The failed manager that never accepts any form of criticism, who can’t discuss a set-back for his club on air, the guy who can’t cope with someone else borrowing his cheeky persona by having a laugh and joke on the pitch. Like Scott Brown.

Not only can Sevco players and fans not cope with Broony but their cheerleaders in the media can’t handle the former Celtic midfielder haunting their thoughts almost 20 years after they sang about taking Brown from Hibs.

Tav and Kenty can’t cope with Brown, Radio Clyde has been providing group counselling services for grieving Ibrox fans after they dropped points for the first time in nine SPFL matches. It seems that some pundits are equally traumatised.

This weekend Coisty will be sharing his charm across a variety of commentary gantries this weekend, as his Brown outburst demonstrated there fear of more Celtic success is as terrifying as facing Forfar with utility man Arnold Peralta away sitting on the bench for Honduras. In 18 months at Ibrox Peralta started 23 matches.

In management McCoist lost cup ties to Forfar Athletic, Raith Rovers, Queen of the South and Falkirk, his record in Europe was nothing to stick on the CV either.

Ally should be embarrassed about his comments when you think he had games postponed in the lower leagues embarrassing but Ally has a short memory when it comes to rangers and their players we have to remember they are all angels that can dive better than Tom Daily when they are near the penalty box

McCoist was the totem by which Charles Green persuaded the fans there was a continuum. Probably the highest paid employee throughout the birth of the new club.
