There were claims on social media last night that the standing section at Celtic Park will be closed for Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie against Raith Rovers.

It seems that the flares or TIFO from last week’s Glasgow derby has upset some sensitive souls, after they had soaked up the atmosphere that contributed hugely to a highly significant win.

Nothing has yet been confirmed but these sort of issues tend to drip out of the club followed by a low key announcement and warning about future actions.

The atmosphere at last week’s derby has been commended from a variety of sources. Ange Postecoglou and various players highlighted the impact of the fans as Celtic started the match at a ferocious pace to lead 3-0 going into the break.

Some house rules may have been broken but online there wasn’t a single word of criticism as the pre-match banners, TIFO and singing set the tone for the most memorable Celtic Park night since Manchester City and Bayern Munich were regular visitors.

In the autumn the Green Brigade held a number of silent protests against the rumoured appointment of Bernard Higgins to a security role in the club, eventually friends of Higgins announced that he wouldn’t be joining Celtic from Police Scotland.

  • JPD says:

Not a massive fan of the Green Brigade to be honest, a bunch of kids who feel self entitled to tell the rest of us how we should feel, missing the point about our club really.

However for the first time in a wee while now we all seem to be pulling in the same direction “The One Road” and then we start this garbadge again

  • Frankie pearson says:

Well said JPD we must all stick together this is a massive season as that gold pot of champions league money will do very nicely and cripple sevco.

  • Charlie Kelly says:

Again board attacking wrong people have a go at police as it takes over an hour to get out of bus park after any game, they should remember who follow the team all over Fed up with board and so called supporters who continually snipe at GB they seem to forget good work done by them stand more by celtic ethos than tory board who when paying staff living wage removed Bonus from rest of staff

  • Sophie Johnstone says:

Only the Celtic board could mess things up just when everything going well at the club, suck the positivity out of everything
