John Paul Taylor has admitted that part of the standing section at Celtic Park could be closed for Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie against Raith Rovers.

Rumours surfaced on social media last night that issues had been raised following the Glasgow derby despite widespread praise for the fans and atmosphere during Celtic’s 3-0 win.

Celtic Park has the only standing section in top level Scottish sport but with it comes extra legislation with Health and Safety issues closely monitored.

The Green Brigade were in full flow before, during and after last week’s match as Celtic’s players turned on the style with all three goals scored at the side of the ground closest to the standing section.

Now it seems inevitable that that section will be closed for Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie, the Raith match is followed by two more home matches, against Bodo Glint and Dundee.

RE GREEN BRIGADE,WHAT IS THE AGENDA? SOME GOOD PARTS,BUT IT FEELS LIKE THE TAIL IS WAGGING THE DOG>>STOP BRINGING THE GOOD NAME OF THIS GREAT CLUB THROUGH THE MUD…

Personal opinion but I am totally against all the flares at football matches, apart from the appalling smell from the flares and it sticking to your clothes it is also sticks in your throat and anyone with respitory problems this is a major factor. In certain case it also obscures the view of the game as was highlighted in the league cup final when the park was covered in a smog from the flares.Others may like the which is their perogative but I am totally against.

  • Peter Cassidy says:

Was not good all those flares can cause fires and toxic fumes and injuries needs to be stopped before someone gets really hurt we can support our team without all this rubbish its a football match flares should be nowhere near a football stadium .

  • Jock says:

People ARE effected by the toxic fumes ! The fact 30 of their pals used the EXACT same batch to wave off The Ringer twenty 12 squad on the way to paradise . Makes me think . The “gb” also took the time ti colour in sevco flegs n scarves on another banner .
The fact Celtic fans allowed or fed into displaying chappy pyros/banners , makes me wonder who exactly is in that camp ?

Time to ban these self appointed politicians. They consista wave Palestinian flags in a uefa competition that says explicitly, that it will result in fines for Celtic and only a matter of time the ground will be closed.
      Sanctions against never work !!
Ban them before Celtic are banned !!!!
