In among many highlights last night the actions of Borna Barisic at Celtic’s third goal stands out.
It is fair to say that Neil McCann was less than impressed as the former Dundee manager teamed up with Steven Thompson for an EBT Special on Sportscene after the match.
Watching the move develop on the right hand side of defence the Croatian international star appeared to be perfectly positioned as the ball was played to Reo Hatate.
As the two-goal Celtic hero crossed the ball into the goalmouth something very strange happened. Liel Abada made up 10 yards coming in from his left while his supposed marker, Barisic remained stationary, bending down on the spot for reasons unknown.

That was to be Barisic’s last involvement in the game, replaced by Leon Balogun at half-time with Calvin Bassey switched to left-back. Roma have dropped their interest in taking Barisic to Serie A.
When I was a kid you were told If you are running out of space “grass”. Just get the ball into the danger area and hope for the best. That’s what happened in this instance. Abada watched the flight of the ball got ahead of the defender into the danger area and scored a wonderful goal his reaction was spot on. end of
