The fall-out around Ibrox from Wednesday has been incredible.

While Celtic fans celebrate going to the top of the SPFL Premiership table the result has triggered an onslaught of abuse and criticism of previous Ibrox heroes with no-one spared.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is the most obvious target, on the pitch the antics of Borna Barisic will be hard to bounce back from. The first misplaced pass on Sunday against Hearts won’t be greeted sympathetically!

Allan McGregor, or Greegsy/Shagger as he is affectionately known hasn’t been spared criticism despite having vast credit in the bank.

Well into his fourth year at the Tribute Act there are definite signs that 40 years of hard living are taking an edge off his game. A hat-trick from Martin Boyle in the League Cup semi-final was a warning, the goals lost last week to Ross County were the actions of someone with issues on his mind.

Second goal McGregor has to be saving it. Third goal he has to be coming off his line to claim that looped cross

Sure he made a few saves fired straight at him but he’s become our Barkas this season. Conceded so many goals he wouldn’t have last season. 40 years old and very much showing it.

Gio owes no player any loyalty and I find it baffling McLaughlin hasn’t been called in yet when you add in his distribution and command of the box

McGregor did pull off some important saves on Wednesday, mainly from Giorgos Giakoumakis but they were of the instinctive nature, quickly throwing his body on the line.

All three Celtic goals could have been prevented by a goalkeeper in top form.

For the first McGregor went down in instalments as a fairly tame shot from Reo Hatate went across his body and low into the net.

The second went in at his near post, Connor Goldson did block out his view to an extent but again it wasn’t a rocket shot from Hatate that found the net from 20 yards.

Barisic was the main culprit for the third goal but McGregor stayed rooted to his line as Liel Abada advanced, the Israeli effectively had the whole goal to aim at as he scored netted from six yards out.
