Through rain, hail and snow, for 365 days a year it stands proud at the bottom of the Celtic Way- the flame of Celtic’s ambitions.

No fan probably expects to see the club lift the European Cup/Champions League again but it won’t stop ambitions in that direction.

It was Lisbon 1967 that defined Celtic, no amount of domestic successes can compete or compare.

For Ange Postecoglou and everyone at Celtic there will always be two aims and goals- success in Scotland and punching their weight in Europe.

Modern Celtic can’t compete with Manchester City, Paris St Germain, Chelsea and the other ‘super-clubs’ but there is certainly a level way above Bodo Glimt, Ferencvaros, Cluj and Sparta Prague that the club should be beating nine times out of 10.

The fact that Bodo are added to that list which includes Malmo and Maribor isn’t on Postecoglou but it falls into the remit of Ian Bankier, Brian Wilson, Tom Allison and the other mystery men who apparently provide Celtic with direction.

The European direction is a slow downward trend, the club needs more than a manager in his first season to reverse that trend.

An analogue club in a digital age. The board needs cleaned out from top to bottom. They aren’t interested in taking the club forward, only lining their pockets.
Dominic Mackay tried but got sacked.
