Bobby Madden had a day to forget as he angered two sets of supporters in the lunchtime thriller from Tannadice.
Kenny Macintyre of BBC Scotland led the protests over two penalty claims for the visitors with calls for VAR and full-time officials or just something to stop Celtic from going further ahead in the SPFL Premiership title race.
Dundee United also had reasons to complain about the East Kilbride based official who booked three of their players in an eight minute spell after Ross Graham had opened the scoring.
Right at the end of the match there was one sickening incident in which Dylan Levitt’s season could have been over.
Clearly second favourite for the ball Ryan Jack didn’t check his challenge in any way as Levitt cleared the ball, with the right leg of the United player exposed Jack followed through to sink his studs into the lower leg of his opponent.
Madden opted against taking any action against the former Aberdeen ace who is only recently back from long term injury.
There’s Ryan Jack at the final whistle.
Should be a retro red coming his way.Twice now in the space of a couple of weeks. https://t.co/mss38iGB9R pic.twitter.com/N0Be7qmg0U

After dealing out 3 yellow cards to Dundee United in 8 minutes, Bobby Madden turned a blind eye to this shocker. https://t.co/BGRg7UWGeO
