Injured Celtic midfielder posts cryptic message

Scott Robertson has published four images on Instagram alongside the message of ‘Gutted the way it ended, back soon’. All of the pictures are of him in Crewe Alexandra kit. 

Injury has cut short his loan stint with the League One side after 23 appearances but it seems that a return could be on the cards. Perhaps the ‘back soon’ message suggests that his season isn’t yet over?

Robertson has certainly opted for life in the real world as he attempts to make a career in the game, he could probably have found some relatively simpler loan spells staying at home but over the last two seasons he has been at Gillingham, Doncaster and Crewe sampling the real world of the English third tier with constant Saturday/Tuesday matches to test resolve as much as ability. 

In his one Celtic starting appearance he looked very composed away to Cluj in the Europa league but the Celtic midfield is a very difficult area to break into. 

With three more options added in January with the signings of Reo Hatate, Yosuke Guchi and Matt O’Riley things aren’t going to be any easier for Robertson at Celtic. 

Turning 21 in July with a further year on his contract he won’t be short of options after showing a relish to test himself well away from the comfort zone.
