Neil McCann’s Ibrox warning

Neil McCann believes that an away win at Ibrox on Sunday would virtually see the SPFL title return to Celtic Park.

The former Scotland winger is a regular pundit on Rangers TV but spoke out candidly about Sunday’s derby clash.

Club media can be relied on to provide a flow of good news stories but in the lead up to the third Glasgow derby of the season McCann told The Sun:

I think under Ange Postecoglou they play a real attacking brand of football and I do believe if Rangers were to lose this game then the title would be virtually going to Celtic Park.

But Giovanni van Bronckhorst will know the magnitude of this game. I can’t see anything other than Celtic coming and attacking Rangers and if [Alfredo] Morelos is fit, [Ryan] Jack is a big player for them, if those guys are okay then Giovanni has to go all out to try to win the game because it’s so crucial.

The remaining three days before the match will be dominated by guessing games over the two line-ups as players return from international duty.

Other than a minor knock to Stephen Welsh Celtic seem to be unaffected by injuries with more than a dozen players away with their nations following the 4-0 win over Ross County.

There will still be one derby match to be played after the split but a Celtic win or a draw on Sunday will see the hoops installed as very strong title favourites with four of their final six matches to be played at home.
