Johnny Kenny took just over half an hour to score on his Celtic debut as the B team enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Partick Thistle.

The Ireland u-19 striker opted to join Celtic from Sligo Rovers during the January transfer window and is very much one for the future.

Tommy McIntyre was able to provide valuable playing time for Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele who have both had injury interrupted seasons.

A minute after the opener Karamoko doubled Celtic’s lead with Johnston putting the hoops 3-0 up early in the second half.

Twelve minutes from the final whistle Karamoko scored his second. In the final minute substitute Joey Dawson completed the scoring when he netted from a Rocco Vata pass.

Partick Thistle, Clyde and Queens Park can field any player in the Glasgow Cup but with their first team in action last night it was very much a shadow side that they fielded.

CELTIC: Oluwayemi; Dede, Corr, Murray, Paterson (Magbus MacKenzie 46); Carse, Letsosa (Kyle Ure 73); Dembele, Kenny (Dawson 62), Moffat, Johnston (Vata 73)

SUBS: Lawal, MacLean, Doak
