Jim Goodwin has hit out at John Beaton over his decision to allow a goal from Kemar Roofe to stand after Calvin Ramsey was bundled off the pitch trying to defend a cross into the box.Â
Even the commentators on ‘Rangers TV’ noted the incident, Bassey played the ball back to Joe Aribo who delivered the telling cross into the penalty area that fell to Kemar Roofe who scored from close range.Â
It was the second time that Aberdeen have been refereed by John Beaton at Ibrox. In October he awarded a late penalty after Fashion Sakala fell unchallenged in the penalty box, James Tavernier equalised with a penalty to secure a point.
In January 2019 Celtic requested that the Lanarkshire based referee explain a number of decisions made by Beaton during a game at Ibrox, the SFA ignored the request with absolutely no follow up from Celtic.Â
??”We don’t expect to get any 50/50 ones when we come here but the big calls like that…”
