Alan Brazil has revealed Ally McCoist’s private fear of Celtic live on-air.

The former Rangers boss performs across a multitude of media outlets these days, consistently pledging his faith and support for his old club.

Back in February he seemed taken aback by the way Celtic dominated the Glasgow derby with Ange Postecoglou’s side a further two points clear as they head to Ibrox on Sunday.

A nine point swing has taken place at the top of the Premiership since the turn of the year with Sunday’s match the chance to accelerate that swing or reign it in.

Scottish football rarely gets a look in on TalkSPORT but with two Glasgow raised presenters on board Sunday’s Ibrox clash featured on their Friday Breakfast Show.

Tuned in to TalkSPORT, the Daily Record reports:

In a dramatic address set to ominous background music, McCoist growled: “Okay Al, mate. It’s that time of the week, that time of the month, that time of the year again, pal.

“I accept we weren’t at our best when we played at your place, however, you’re travelling across the city to the home of the champions. Be scared, Al. Be very, very scared.”

But Brazil was unmoved as he cut the brass band and said: “Do you know something, it’s amazing how he changes in 24 hours. I was sitting having a glass with him yesterday.

“He’s like that, ‘we’re playing rubbish at the moment, I fancy Celtic to beat us’.  How can he come on, live on air and say that?

“My hope is, nothing to lose, don’t sit back, go for it like they did right from the whistle at Parkhead. Went for Rangers’ throats, I would do it again.”

McCoist is likely to be part of Sky Sports’ coverage of the match on Sunday, then back on TalkSPORT on Monday at 6am sharing his expertise.
