Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Tom Rogic has been back in training and available for Sunday’s match at Ibrox.

The midfielder suffered a nasty looking ankle injury during the first half of Celtic’s 4-0 win over Ross County that resulted in a straight red card for Kayne Ramsey.

Rogic tried to play on but was substituted by Matt O’Riley in the 33rd minute then pulled out of the Australian World Cup squad for the matches against Japan and Saudi Arabia.

His chances of being involved at Ibrox looked bleak but come Sunday he will be part of Postecoglou’s plans for a match of vital importance.

QUESTION: Can I ask about Tom Rogic’s chances, has he made a quicker than expected recovery?

POSTECOGLOU: Yeah, if we had a game last week he wouldn’t have played, he didn’t train at all last week so, after the knock he struggled but, having again a long week, he didn’t train on Monday, or was it Tuesday but he has put in a couple of sessions now and feels pretty good. He’s available again.

Rogic has enjoyed some of his finest moments for the Glasgow derby with memorable goals at all three stadiums.

With James Forrest missing through injury it will be important for Postecoglou to have the experience of his fellow Aussie to call on for a fixture that will test Celtic’s nerve as much as their ability.
