Ange Postecoglou was giving nothing away about the fitness of Giorgos Giakoumakis and David Turnbull ahead of Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

The striker failed to make it till half-time against St Johnstone while Turnbull hobbled off in the closing minutes after appearing as a second half substitute.

Those injuries were the only downside on the day that Celtic enjoyed their biggest win of the season with the added bonus of welcoming Kyogo Furuhashi back from injury.

With eight days between the St Johnstone match and the semi-final there is plenty of time for treatment as the hoops look to book a place in the Scottish Cup Final.

Asked about the injury Giakoumakis suffered at home to St Johnstone, Postecoglou told Celtic TV:

Nothing concrete yet. Again, we’re still waiting for the final scans on it. Hopefully, it’s not too bad. He feels like it’s not too bad, but until we get the information we won’t know.

Similar with David Turnbull, he obviously got a pretty hard knock. It’s only a couple of days after, so we’ll see how it all settles down. With both, I’m hoping it’s not too lengthy an absence.

Giakoumakis has led the line with style, presence and goals since the turn of the year but with Liel Abada replacing him on Saturday Jota switched wings with Daizen Maeda playing through the centre.

Turnbull is very unlikely to be a starter at Hampden but the former Motherwell man has appeared as a substitute in Celtic’s last three matches.
