Guardian reporter Murray can’t hold back over Celtic nomination

It is hard to tell whether Ewan Murray is obsessed with Celtic or simply sensitive over any praise or honours heading towards the hoops.

The Guardian’s golf reporter knows his way around the bunkers and rough but as a Hearts fan his attention is often drawn to Scottish football and the procession of trophies towards the east end of Glasgow.

It seems that the nominations from footballers for their Player of the Year hasn’t met with Murray’s approval. What would the guys out on the pitch every week know about the game or the ability of their opponents?

With five substitutes available Ange Postecoglou makes full use of that option with his attack-minded players far more likely to be replaced than defenders.

Players of Rogic’s ability are very rare. His ball control is flawless while his ability to find the net or deliver assists is a skill that can’t be coached into a player.

The Australian keeps a low profile away from football, perhaps Murray should do the same away from the fairways.

Bawbag Murray it’s good to know Celtic live inside his head.He would be creaming his pants should sevco defeat Hearts 5 nil, like a wee guy seeing his first scud book.

  • Tony B says:

He once had an apoplectic fit after seeing a spectator in the Hoops at a U.S. Open.

Spoiled the tournament for him to the extent that he felt compelled to have a rant about it in his column.

A chip on both shoulders this hun mini, and is totally obsessed with Celtic.
