Richard Foster called out the Ibrox fanbase as he made an appearance on PLZ Football earlier in the week.

The Partick Thistle defender and aspiring pundit played for both Ibrox clubs, either side of spells at Aberdeen and Bristol City, leaving the Tribute Act in the summer of 2015 after two seasons in the lower divisions.

Foster left Ibrox for the second time in the summer of 2015 with most fans believing that the followers of the Tribute Act are more poisonous and toxic that the supporters that watched their club head into liquidation in 2012.

FOSTER: At what point do you think ‘I’m going to make up a banner about Child Abuse’ and use that, as you say, as a point scoring exercise against the other team, against others fans? It’s incredible. You cannot even begin to get into the mindset of these people.

PETER MARTIN: Well absolutely not, well said everyone on this one.

At that the conversation quickly moved on.

With no comment from either club about the acts of violence, songbook and banners from Sunday at Ibrox those involved will believe that they have done nothing wrong, over the next 10 days they’ll be attending a Europa League quarter-final and semi-final.

Neil Doncaster’s only comment has been to criticise UEFA for having strict liability which makes club’s responsible for the actions of their fans, something that the SFA and SPFL go to length to prevent.

In 2019 UEFA twice closed sections of Ibrox due to the racist actions of supporters.

Much as though he may be one of them I don’t think Foster is staunch. Fair play to him on this one, but he still talks a lot of pish about the game itself!
