Leon Balogun is the latest name to be added to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s absentee list for next Sunday’s Glasgow derby.

The experienced central defender was given a straight red card by Nick Walsh which means that he is suspended for the next SPFL Premiership match.

With Filip Helander out for the remainder of the season it looks like Calvin Bassey will partner Connor Goldson in central defence with Borna Barisic starting at left-back. That was the defensive selection that lost three first-half goals to Celtic in February before Balogun replaced Barisic.

With Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe, Ianis Hagi and Aaron Ramsey already ruled out of next Sunday’s match van Bronckhorst will be crossing his fingers that there are no fresh injuries picked up against Leipzig on Thursday night.

Josip Juranovic is the only Celtic player ruled out at this stage, tomorrow Ange Postecoglou’s side face Ross County hoping to regain their six point lead at the top of the Premiership table.
