A video clip has been put together highlighting the unusual way that Bobby Madden treated John Lundstram during Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
There was plenty of questionable decisions made by the match referee over 120 minutes but his point blank refusal to even book the former Sheffield United midfielder is one of the biggest mysteries.
Madden was perfectly positioned to view each incident, all of them were probably worth a booking while the accumulation of four fouls surely deserves a yellow card for persistent fouling. Not in Madden’s eyes.

Callum McGregor seemed to be a particular target for Lundstram, as the Celtic skipper collected the ball, looked forward and prepared to run or pass the Ibrox number four was able to arrive on the scene a split second too late, commit a foul to injure an opponent and deny Celtic the opportunity to get on the attack.
Joe Hart was also a victim, as he prepared a quick clearance Lundstram dangerously raised his leg- again denying Celtic the opportunity to break forward.
Madden did book five of Lundstram’s team-mates but for some reason opted against showing a yellow card to the former Sheffield United man.
