Celtic have issued a statement to BBC Scotland about crowd incidents at today’s Glasgow Derby. There was no comment on Celtic’s website or Twitter account at 8.20pm tonight

Trouble occurred after the final whistle when it appears that bottles and other missiles were thrown across the segregation cordon.

Today’s visitors were quick off the mark with a statement given to their media partners at The Herald, an hour or so later Chris McLaughlin of BBC Scotland was tweeting about a statement from Celtic.

The 800 visiting fans are all well known to their club, they were escorted into the ground between 10 and 10.30am this morning then held behind until after the Celtic support had left.

Today’s match was the first derby in more than two years with visiting supporters inside Celtic Park.

After three derby fixtures in five weeks Police Scotland will be relieved that the two clubs won’t meet again for four or five months with the issue of away fans bound to be questioned again.

I was at the top of the walkway closest to the huns when it all ‘kicked off’.
There was a bottleneck at that exit which was caused by our fans hanging around to goad the huns instead off exiting the stadium, fair enough.
It got too much for a group of the huns near the bottom of their end and they charged the police line, as more polis went to that flashpoint the bottles started flying from their end, there was a few big disposable soft drinks thrown but it was mostly glass bottles flying through the air.
Didn’t take long for our lot to return the favour.
To be honest I really think it’s time to ban these cunts from Celtic Park.

Wee brother was next to it. Both fans throwing stuff.
Both clubs need to sort this out. Doesn’t suit anyone. Personally I miss the days in the Broomloan.
