As he grudgingly admitted that Ange Postecoglou was the Manager of the Year Ewan Murray had to put in a few qualifiers.
Bristling at some of the coverage that the Celtic boss has been given the Guardian’s golf reporter pointed out that Postecoglou wasn’t extraordinary and certainly wasn’t a miracle worker.
And then someone dug up his pre-season preview with the headline explaining that it would take a miracle for Celtic to overturn the 25 point deficit that they trailed in by last season.
In common with most experts, including his good friend Tom English, Murray couldn’t see beyond an Ibrox title triumph. There really wasn’t any other prospect worth discussing.
Going into the new year Celtic trailed by six points with Giovanni van Bronckhorst drooled over for a few tweeks to the side that had crashed out of the League Cup by losing 3-1 at Hampden to Hibs.
With three matches left to play Celtic are six points clear at the top of the Premiership table, miracles sometimes happen.
Celtic need a miracle to win the league. Celtic win the league and it isn’t a miracle… pic.twitter.com/MlZkXtF2Wb
