We won’t open Ibrox for Seville beam-back! Sevco wash their hands of loyal bears

Stewart Robertson has ruled out opening Ibrox up for a beam-back of the Europa League Final.

While supporters demand that fan-zones are set up across Seville, at Glasgow Green, George Square and other venues the Ibrox Managing Director knows better than most just how toxic his customers are.

Charging £10 per head and getting a temporary alcohol licence could turn Ibrox into a money-making venture but amusing the bears as they watch big screens without fighting among themselves is a huge risk.

In 2008 the old club opened Ibrox to screen the match with Zenit St Petersburg with horrific consequences.

Numerous fans ran on the pitch in a state of undress with more arrests made at the beam-back than at any football match that season. Fortunately, the riots across Manchester allowed a compliant media to deflect away from the incidents at Ibrox.

It’s very unlikely as most of the staff we’d need to run such a beam back are going to be in Seville so I don’t think that will happen.

As much as we understand the desire of fans to be in one place together to watch it, I don’t think that’s going to be physically possible.

It is highly unlikely that the minimum wage outside contractors that operate the turnstiles and work as matchday stewards are being flown to Seville and provided with hotel accommodation for the match.

  • Scud Missile says:

The pubs and restaurants staying closed due to the visit of sevco fans now the klub itself won’t open the stadium for a beam back so just what does that tell you about the people that support that klub.

He is both scared of them and ashamed of them at the same time.
He knows how toxic they are.

    He is one of them.

“…and don’t dae whit thae feenyins wur daein’ and turn up ootside the stadium efter the game, we cannae afford any polis ur securiteh!!!”

What an absolute embarrassment to Scotland that klub and it’s fans are.

When all eyes are on Seville, look out for a man with a careless flame walking past the bigot dome near full time…they might need the insurance payout if they don’t win….

I must admit ,I am amazed that sevco 2012 are letting this money spinner pass them by .
There must be a reason for it and I would love to know what it is
