With much of England preparing for a four day booze-up Joey Barton has upset things a little bit on Twitter.
For a couple of months he picked up a wage sitting in the home dressing room at Ibrox under a portrait on the Queen of England, now, six years later he has described the monarchy as an absurd concept.
There could well be Season Ticket holders at Bristol Rovers putting in complaints today at the comments of their promotion winning manager.
Recently the monarchy has been topical in English football with Liverpool fans booing the national anthem before the FA Cup Final at Wembley.
Very few of the traditional defenders of free speech spoke up for that right to boo, with one tweet Barton’s future job prospects in English football have been significantly harmed.
As well as eight appearances at Ibrox Barton played for Manchester City, Newcastle, QPR, Burnley plus a season on loan at Marseilles where he quickly picked up the lingo.
Aye…. Strange choice of club if you don’t like the monarchy.

Makes your decision to sign for a club obsessed with it even more bizarre.

Another member of the grey bus brigade took to school by special bus, making statements like that after collecting a coin from the bigoted klub.
That is how they are all brain dead ,it is cludgy water that is in the loving cup.
