Alan Nixon has confirmed Celtic’s interest in Taylor Harwood-Bellis.Â
The 20-year-old central defender spent last season on loan at Anderlecht and Stoke City and has a further two years left to run on his City contract.Â
Nixon is something of a transfer market guru with extensive contacts across the north of England, his stories regularly appear in The Sun, recently he set up a Patreon account which uses the strapline ‘Boss of Goss’.Â

Are celtic serious about him or is he a ccv alternative

With Chris Jullien frozen out the picture at Celtic and the departure of Nir Bitton there is a shortage of options in central defence where Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers played every minute of every SPFL match in 2022.Â
Celtic are still in negotiations with Spurs over Carter-Vickers but with the demands of the Champions League coming up will be looking for more than Stephen Welsh as cover.Â
Harwood-Bellis falls into the Jason Denayer and Dedryck Boyata category of nominally being a Manchester City player with little prospect of breaking through at the Etihad.Â
Whether Celtic would want to bring in a ‘project’ on loan or whether City are prepared to sell someone who captained the England u-21 side as recently as March remains to be seen.Â
The Jeremy Frimpong example may appeal to all parties with the player joining Celtic and sold on for a very significant fee 18 months later in a move that seemed to suit everyone involved.Â
