Ange’s summer 2021 signing is wanted by SPFL Premiership club

Aberdeen are interested in taking Liam Scales on loan to Pittodrie. 

Celtic signed the defender from Shamrock Rovers at the end of August but the last of his eight top team appearances was away to Bodo Glint in February. 

Turning 24 in August Scales badly needs first team football with Jim Goodwin looking to recast the squad that he inherited from Stephen Glass. 

The former St Mirren boss has extensive contacts across Ireland with a left sided defender a priority as he attempts to get Aberdeen into the top six and pushing Hearts for third place.

Ryan Christie spent 18 months at Aberdeen before relaunching his Celtic career when it seemed like he was drifting out of Celtic. 

Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a couple of left-backs, indicating that Scales isn’t yet ready to challenge Greg Taylor for a place in the Celtic first team. 

In January Adam Montgomery went on loan to Aberdeen from Celtic.
