BBC Scotland just can’t bring themselves to acknowledge that the Lisbon Lions have been voted as the Greatest Team of All Time.

If the poll had come from a little known website that reaction might be understandable but it came from their colleagues in London, the real BBC, not the Glasgow branch office.

With Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid include the poll had great reach but after two days Celtic came out on top with 32% of the votes.

There is no article about the poll on the BBC site which includes the Craig Levein piece and a soft, colourful background piece to Scotland v Ukraine written by egg-chasing expert Tom English.

Both the Daily Record and Scottish Sun covered the story, even in their Gossip section BBC Scotland decided not to pick up on the Lisbon Lions story.
