Ross Doohan is reportedly a transfer target for St Johnstone and Doncaster Rovers

The keeper made 33 appearances on loan at Tranmere Rovers last season but while the League Two side converted Lee O’Connor’s loan into a permanent move Doohan has returned to Celtic.

At the age of 24 Doohan is still waiting to play in a competitive match for Celtic, the recent signing of Ben Siegrist suggests that that opportunity has passed by.

In a transfer round-up in The Sun, Alan Nixon reports:

Meanwhile, Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan, 24, is wanted on loan by Doncaster, with St Johnstone also keen. He spent last season out on loan at Tranmere Rovers.

Doohan had two good seasons on loan at Ayr United, picking up Scotland u-21 caps but a move to Ross County at the start of the 2020/21 season never quite worked out with Celtic’s Dubai training camp issues seeing his move cut short.

With Zander Clark quitting St Johnstone at the end of last season there is a goalkeeping vacancy in Perth, clearly Doohan is highly rated but at this stage of his career he needs to build on what appears to have been a solid season with Tranmere.
