Jota will sign a four year contract with Celtic ‘soon’.
That is the view of established Portuguese publisher Record. It is a familiar message on the signing saga that has Celtic fans increasingly concerned about the 23-year-old winger.
Mild concerns about a delay have been expressed since Celtic reached agreement with Spurs with Cameron Carter-Vickers signing a four year permanent contract. A Jota deal was expected to follow soon afterwards.
Those worries increased when Jota was posted missing from the first day of pre-season training- against a background of images of the winger at a music festival following sightings in Ibiza, New York and Cancun.
Despite the delay there has been no suggestion in Portugal or Scotland about approaches from other clubs for the winger who is under contract with Benfica until June 2024.
Just before 6am this morning Record claimed:

Without mentioning any names Ange Postecoglou was very relaxed when asked about transfer business in an interview with Celtic TV on Monday. No deadlines were being set with the manager appearing very comfortable with how his squad is shaping up.
Ben Siegrist is the only signing so far, Alexandro Bernabei appears very close to joining from Lanus. In the other direction Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton have definitely left, Karamoko Dembele seems to be a free agent, Liam Scales, Vasilis Barkas and Adam Montgomery are out on loan with Chris Jullien looking to be moving to France or Germany.
