Aston Villa HAVE NO INTEREST in signing Joe Aribo!

Over the last week the Daily Record has been at the forefront trying to sell the former Charlton Athletic ace who has a year left to run on his current contract.

While Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram are picking up more than £40,000 a week Aribo is stuck on the deal he signed in 2019 with no talks about a new contract.

Steven Gerrard signed Aribo in the summer of 2019 which has prompted the Record to speculate over a reunion but as he demonstrated in January the Villa boss has shown no interest in the stars he walked away from last November.

In the English media Aribo has barely rated a mention, discussing transfer speculation at Villa, local newspaper Express and Star reveals:

Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson has emerged as a possible transfer target for Galatasaray.

The Frenchman is facing an uncertain future at Villa Park and is also being tracked by several clubs in his homeland after an underwhelming 18 months in the West Midlands.

Sanson has started just 19 Premier League matches since arriving in a £14million move from Marseille. Villa have strengthened their midfield by signing Boubacar Kamara and could make further additions in that area should players depart.

But West Ham’s Tomas Soucek or Rangers’ Joe Aribo, both mooted as possible targets in recent days, are not thought to be of interest.

Neither is AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, with Villa not looking to recruit at centre-back following the £26million signing of Diego Carlos from Sevilla earlier in the window.

Despite the best efforts of the Record, Villa have shown no interest in Calvin Bassey, Connor Goldson, Ryan Kent or Alfredo Morelos.

With their former boss steering clear it is unlikely that a bidding war will be breaking out any time soon for any of the Ibrox stars that will be out of contract next year.
