Fashion Sakala is a loan target for Auxerre.

Last summer the winger/striker moved to Ibrox on a Bosman deal from Oostende, making a moderate impact but rarely a first pick when others were fit and available.

Sakala came off the bench in the 74th minute of the Europa League Final then suffered the humiliation of being replaced by Aaron Rambo Ramsey in the 118th minute.

At this stage a loan deal seems unlikely but if the Tribute Act fails to reach the group stage of the Champions League nothing can be ruled out as transfer guru Ross Wilson tries to make ends meet.

French site Homme du Match reports:

Just promoted to Ligue 1, AJ Auxerre intends to strengthen, especially in the attacking sector. The club have requested the one-season loan of Zambian international striker Fashion Sakala.

The speed and percussion of the Glasgow Rangers winger is very popular with the Auxerre management but also with Jean-Marc Furlan who validated this lead. However, it will be difficult to convince a player who certainly lacks playing time with the Scottish club but on whom many hopes are placed.

According to Transfermarkt Sakala is contracted until May 2025, joining as a free agent he is likely to be on a decent salary.
