In the middle of the golf season, between majors, on the first weekend of the magnificent EPL, Guardian reporter Ewan Murray is again sharing his frustrations about Celtic fans.
The boyhood Hearts fan has moved on to much bigger sporting interests but the joy of Celtic playing well at a tricky venue, scoring three goals with a winger in outstanding form, Jota, seems to cause Murray some distress.
A year ago Hearts were beating Celtic in the first day of the season. Ange Postecoglou lost three of his first six matches, Celtic took 10 points from the first 21 available but have now hit an outstanding run of form, covering two seasons they are unbeaten in 34 SPFL matches.
Even if it doesn’t fill him with joy he doesn’t have to grumble and question these achievements. Take it on the chin surely and aspire for his own club to try and emulate what Postecoglou has managed since defeat last July at Tynecastle?
I like the notion of competitive sport. Scotland’s top league isn’t competitive. I find it bizarre so many Celtic – in particular- and Rangers fans getting abusive over this aren’t bored every home game. It’s unsustainable. https://t.co/Y15W1XMYky

Later this month Hearts face Zurich or Linfield in a Europa League Play Off, either way group stage football will bring in around £3m more for the Tynecastle club.
It seems that some people earning a living from sport just can’t be happy to enjoy their privileged position.

The EPL is no better in terms of being competitive. After Man City and Liverpool no one stands a realistic chance of winning it.
Obviously it doesn’t suit Murray’s agenda to discuss this.
Mind you he’s a bitter Hertz fan with a chip on each shoulder.
I can only assume he’s had a right doing off a Tim at some point? How else can you explain the perpetual whinging from this jackass?
Boring, tiresome, fud.
Jealousy at our successes and frustrated that the orange order’s anti Catholic strategy of failed oppression has not been so. Maybe he should try professional journalism as a career. Scum on the run
Prophet of Doom! But it is his own team who are gloomy. Scotland’s Clubs other than us and Them have done nadge and have never qualified for any European Group Stages of Club competition. Another reason not to buy the Guardian?!
And to say tht the Scottish Premiership is not competitive is simply not true! It is a lie and Mr. Doncaster should be all over that one, quite frankly!
We’re bored awrite….of listening to that attention seeking gobshite.
I have listened to the Guardian podcast since the wonderful James Richardson hosted it…Not so good now and generally pro sevco but one time Murray criticised the Celtic support for singing an IRA song…it was Grace..FFS has he heard some of the bile his beloved buddies at Tynecastle spew out ?
