The Jason Denayer rumour

One Celtic twitter account, admittedly putting 2 and 2 together to possibly get 5 has tweeted that Jason Denayer could be a transfer target for Ange Postecoglou.

From other accounts it could be dismissed but @celtic67fins72 was first to name Oliver Abildgaard as a signing target with the Dane signing a loan deal from Rubin Kazan soon after Sead Haksabanovic joined Celtic from the same club.

Denayer had a very successful loan season at Celtic in 2014, playing alongside Virgil van Dijk but has appeared lukewarm at speculation over making a permanent move.

The Belgian internationalist ended a four year contract with Lyon in May but despite what appears to be a perfect CV ahead of the World Cup Finals he is still without a club.

Celtic were without Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers for the defeat away to St Mirren but it seems that neither is facing a long term lay off.

Abildgaard has still to play a match for Celtic, unless he is super human it would take Denayer about a month to get match fit by which time Celtic would hope to have their regular defensive duo back in action with the clock racing towards the World Cup Finals in Qatar.
