On Wednesday night at Ibrox a Spanish referee awarded penalties, yellow and red cards, applying the Laws of the Game with VAR as back up with Napoli winning 3-0.

For the visit of Dundee United today it was back to the SFA, no sign of VAR and Kevin Clancy getting his second Ibrox appointment of the infant season.

From the 59th minute Dundee United, without a manager or an SPFL win, were pushing for an equaliser. The home fans were ill at ease, the players on the park nervous as they tried to run the clock down. With Clancy in charge the outcome was assured.

In the 88th minute Jamie McGrath was advancing down the right flank, cutting into the penalty box Malik Tilman stuck out an awkward right leg to deny McGrath further progress.

Back in January an eight point letter detailing complaints to the SFA from Ibrox about Kevin Clancy was leaked to Sky Sports. Clancy knew the consequences of applying the Laws of the Game today. Goal kick.

Lol and then their fans wonder why players get sent off in European games when tackles and fouls like that are permitted by Scottish refs, but not by European refs who do go by and follow the letter of the law in the game.

  • Klaatubhoy says:

That’s a pathetic attempt for a pen ffs?he plants his foot and flings himself doon. I’m all for the orcs getting pummelled every game but that’s just embarrassing ?

By the laws of the game observed by whole planet except the ‘best wee bigoted country in the wurld’ that was a penalty.
Doesn’t matter if the Dundee United player went looking for it, contact was made by the Sevco player in the box. Clear penalty.

Clear penalty – and the BBC commentator never even mentioned it!

  • the maister says:

Though, if Clancy gives a penalty and the Filth make a complaint. Then Clancy the referee is history – and he probably loses his day job as well. So, you can see why he might be inclined not to give it!?

  • John B says:

Oh dear, you poor desperate souls, whatever next.

  • Peter Mcmurray says:

Very typical of these appointments chance a true blue so it’s safe to say with these referees are in charge at ibrox then your expecting these descions going against any team going to ibrox truly biased cheating referees should not be referring games at all just purely cheating other team and fans
