A week after losing 7-1 to Liverpool there was little to cheer about at Ibrox last night as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side limped to a 1-0 win over Dundee in the League Cup.

Steve Davis scored in the 10th minute which should have been the launchpad for a morale boosting win but with only Allan McGregor, Ben Davies and Borna Barisic missing from a first choice XI there was no further scoring.

There was no siege of the Dundee goal, the visitors were comfortable, in the last 20 minutes they passed their way forward with ease but were unable to find the goal to take the match into extra-time.

At the final whistle the 10,000 fans left inside Ibrox booed the team off the park- in a week’s time the same group will be playing Napoli in the Champions League.

Online the criticism and anger was brutal, the total-football expected from Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been replaced by McLeish-ball.

Simon is the host of Gers Fans TV, hosting a post match discussion from his loyal bunker he was on the brink of despair as he shared his grief with loyal bears.

Over three last hour on Facebook I’ve read four or five times or maybe more the comment ‘ a win is a win, that will do me.’

I cannae agree, I cannae agree whatsoever with that. The support are finally starting to wake up to the fact that the manager, the board, the structure of the club just now is simply not good enough. It is nowhere near the level that it should be at, its a major concern.

It’s boring, absolutely boring to watch it. It is not inspiring and doesn’t give me the impression that that team is going to go out there and win the league, or any cups. Absolutely rotten to the core watching that. Good-night folks, and never forget We Are The People.
