Ally McCoist refused to call out Ross Wilson as the architect of the disastrous Ibrox Champions League campaign.
The former Sevco boss was on Scottish Football Extra on BT Sport when Chris Sutton was winding up his broadcast buddy.
After six successive defeats in the Champions League the lack of talent in the Ibrox squad has been called out but after two transfer windows there is debate over how much of a say Giovanni van Bronckhorst has on arrivals.
In January Aaron Ramsey and Amad Diallo barely saw game time under the Dutchman while summer signings Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies and Rabbi Matondo have been used very reluctantly.
McCoist didn’t want to blame the manager for recruitment issues but with Sutton pressing for an answer the former Ibrox boss just couldn’t bring himself to name transfer guru Wilson.
