Michael Beale has claimed that he turned down two or three opportunities to leave QPR before jumping ship to Ibrox this week.
The 42-year-old turned down the chance to have talks last month with Wolves about the opportunity to manage the club before going on to boast about his loyalty and refusing to jump ship.
Beale enjoys nothing more than self promotion, discussing his incredible coaching journey and stealing acclaim from the success of others.
QPR fans have slaughtered the morals of the new Ibrox boss with snake about the kindest comment that they’ve made.
Trying to cover his tracks he told Sky Sports about the mystical other offers he snubbed before the lure of working with James Tavernier and Connor Goldson proved too strong to resist.
Listening to his interview on Sky Sports, The Sun reports the rookie boss saying:
I was extremely happy at QPR. I was really happy there in terms of my personal life.Les Ferdinand was outstanding with me and the four owners, I spoke to them on the phone in the last 24 hours and they’ve really been good owners.
They understand the reasons. There’s family and football reasons that have (made me) come to this decision.
There’s a difference in the size of the clubs, it’s fair to say. There was more in the background than with previous opportunities in the Premier League.

I don’t know how many Championship managers stayed in a club when a Premier League club was there and the opportunity was there to go and work in the league.Â
It’s not a financial decision. There were other opportunities that were financially bigger. It’s a football decision and also a decision on my personal life as my family are very happy and comfortable here in Glasgow.

They’ve sold the silver again and got in a rookie manager. They know Celtic ain’t goin’ to falter. So, they’ve cut their losses on an expensive manager and his backroom team who probs weren’t going to win much and brought in a poundshop alternative. Meanwhile they cut themselves a good big slice of the revenue Van Bronckhorst generated for them last season with what he achieved – for them, especially in Europe and the UCL this season. Simple, isn’t it!
Desmond would have probs done the same in a similar position! Who knows!?
Remains to be seen how much of the wealth generated by Van B. gets reinvested in players in the January window. But I reckon they’ve set out a plan until the summer before they reinvest. And it probs includes a long Carribbean holiday for the lucky ones who inherit the windfall!
