Giovanni van Brockhorst has no regrets over his side’s disastrous Champions League campaign and wouldn’t change anything.
On Tuesday night the Dutchman took his club into the history books as the worst ever in the 30 year history of the competition.
Six defeats and a goal difference of 2-22 made headlines worldwide but with the flack flying his way van Bronckhorst is standing his ground.
Although the results were bad there was equal criticism from fans that the players lacked desire and had no real game-plan to take points from the matches or to even pressurise their opponents.
Ajax managed to lose 15 goals in matches 2-5 but comfortably crushed van Bronckhorst’s side 4-0 then 3-1 at Fortress Ibrox.

Speaking about the summer transfer window, van Bronckhorst stresses that recruitment is a joint process but insists he was never overruled for players. Says it’s the same way he worked at Feyenoord.
