One over excited Ibrox fans wants to see Roberto Firmino take over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst as manager!

Yes, the 31-year-old Brazilian with no management experience, the guy that scored twice in Liverpool’s recent 7-1 Champions League win that was dominated by the hat-trick of Mo Salah.

All sorts of exotic names have been thrown up across social media since the Dutchman was sacked this morning- 10 days after the 1-1 draw with St Mirren.

Last week the injury list excuse was being trotted out, on Saturday Graeme Souness stated the case for the lame Dutchman but by mid-morning he had his pay off and was off the scene.

While coaches in Germany, Scandinavia and England are being linked with the job the likelihood is that it is a straight battle between David Martindale and Robbie Neilson to wear the next set of brogues.
