There is one set of The Laws of the Game. They are drawn up by the International Football Board and applied worldwide, in every FIFA country. There are no regional variations, certainly not across a city.

Back in November Nick Walsh was on VAR duty at Celtic’s home match against Dundee United when the ball was headed towards Alexandro Bernabei from close range.

Referee David Dickinson didn’t see the contact, Walsh did, alerted his colleague and Dundee United were back in the match with Steven Fletcher scoring from the penalty spot. Two days later Walsh back at the day job, working on the fitness of the next batch of Murray Park starlets.

After his shift at Boclair High School, Bearsden yesterday, the rising star of the SFA checked in at Ibrox for the incidental visit of Hibs. Among Walsh’s pupils there would have been lots of excitement over the new manager, Mister Beale.

With Hibs 2-1 ahead at Ibrox, panicked James Sands raised his left arm to get control of a high ball into the penalty box. Walsh chose to look away, as did VAR Alan Muir, someone with a bit of a history over handball decisions.

Fortunately with Michael Nicholson sworn to silence Crawford Allan and his buddies at the SFA can get on with their levelling up operations without any comment until the 2023 Celtic AGM.

Hibs director Rod Petrie is President of the SFA if Lee Johnson needs any explanations into the unique ways of Scottish football.

It’s like the Mafia code of Omerta. Long overdue for Celtic FC.to get a grip.of of the SFA,

  • Alexander Murray says:

No one with ‘Rangers’ leanings or affiliations should be officiating at any Celtic matches, the ridiculous hand ball decisions and the blind eye refusal when they should be in Celtics’ favour are blatant cheating, the refusal to give Hibs a penalty which in effect would have put Rangers 3-1 down and scuppered ‘ Bealeball’ before it started was ridiculous, it is disgusting, and if VAR is in place solely for Rangers benefit then we might as well pack up our tents and chuck Scottish football on the fire.
