With his own future at Celtic in doubt Giorgos Giakoumakis has wished Josip Juranovic good luck at Union Berlin.

The defender completed his transfer at lunchtime on Sunday with almost all of his team-mates sharing images and good luck messages on Instagram.

Giakoumakis joined Celtic a week after Juranovic, after a slower start the striker hit form at the turn of the year as Ange Postecoglou’s side powered their way to the SPFL title.

Over the last couple of months the two players have also been bracketed together with doubts over their future in Scotland.

Coming to Celtic from VVV Venlo and Legia Warsaw neither was among the top earners, despite their long term contracts ways and means can be found for more lucrative transfers.

After missing Celtic’s last two matches the transfer focus is now firmly on Giakoumakis with his departure almost certainly linked to the signing of another striker, probably Oh Hyeun-gyu.
