Oh Hyeon-gyu is set to join Celtic ‘in the coming days’.

Reports from Korea on Thursday night suggested that serious negotiations were underway with Suwon Bluewings to bring the striker to Scotland.

A variety of progress reports have appeared with Football Scotland claiming on Saturday afternoon that Oh was undergoing a Celtic medical.

Celtic will require a work permit for the striker but it appears that a deal will be completed before Sunday’s SPFL match away to Dundee United as The Sun reports:

CELTIC are set to complete the £2.5million signing of Oh Hyeon-gyu in the coming days.

The Hoops have agreed terms with the South Korean striker, who has been given the green light to travel to Glasgow.

Progress on this deal seems to be running in tandem with the departure of Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Greek striker has missed Celtic’s last two matches with Ange Postecoglou admitting on Saturday that the former VVV Venlo striker had things to deal with.

Should the Oh/Giakoumakis deals be completed it could lead to a quiet end to the transfer window although a couple of fringe players such as James McCarthy, Yosuke Ideguchi and loan signing Oliver Abildgaard could be on the move.
