Kris Boyd has joined the chorus calling time up on Alfredo Morelos’ time at Ibrox.

For years the former Kilmarnock striker has been singing the praises of the chunky Colombian, at the start of this season he claimed that Morelos was the best player in Scotland when Scott Allan put that title on Jota.

Morelos is now in his 11th transfer window stuck at Ibrox with virtually no chance of an offer of Dembele Dollars coming in for his services.

Tales of Galatasaray, Porto, West Ham and Gillingham keeping tabs, preparing bids or testing the water have fallen by the wayside with a return to Colombia looking the most likely option when his contract expires in May.

So far this season Morelos has scored five goals, less than Kevin van Keen with embarrassing images and quotes attached to his name with Greg Taylor’s comment from Monday afternoon going viral.

Boyd knows a thing or to about the battle of the bulge but speaking to Sky Sports today he offered no sympathy to Micky Beale’s first choice striker.

Alfredo Morelos is not the same player that he was for whatever reason. He might have his eyes on a move elsewhere.

It seems to be the case every transfer window, it has not materialised and you look at it right now, the way that Michael Beale wants to play, Alfredo Morelos is nowhere near fit enough to trigger that press as such.

It’s not anything he hasn’t done in the past. You are not asking someone who is not the fastest to run the 100 metres in nine seconds or whatever. Alfredo Morelos has occupied back-fours not only in Scotland but in Europe.

I have said it before, he is a fantastic footballer when he is on it. He is a handful, he can score goals, he has scored over 100 goals for Rangers but at this moment in time, you feel that his time is up.

I don’t think he is bringing anywhere near what he should be bringing to a Rangers team – although you have to say, he is not alone.

When big fake Kris Boyd levels his criticism at big ,hugely overweight Morelos ,everybody knows his tea is out . (Bad pun) ! Here’s a guy in Boyd , who played at a heavier gauge than most players in his pomp ,slamming his pet project ‘s striker ‘s weight knowing it’s a gift from God for all to mock …. It’s like the daily Record slagging the Sun as a cheap ,lazy ,unreadable tabloid …

for stating what has been bleedin’ obvious

to anyone – for the whole of this season.
